Christopher P. Salm is CEO and the founder of Salm Partners, LLC and Ab E Discovery, LLC.
After earning a B.S. degree in Meat and Animal Sciences at UW Madison and M.S. and PhD degrees from Purdue University, Chris spent 23+ years working in a variety of functions for major brand marketing companies in the meat industry, notably Oscar Mayer, Johnsonville Sausage, and ConAgra Foods. Chris has served as a scientist, operations manager, marketing and business manager and on the executive team as the strategic new technology and innovation leader. Chris has developed strong skill sets in finance, business development and business modeling. Throughout his career, Chris has focused on building trusted relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers while being on the forefront of innovation in the meat industry.
Salm Partners, a co-pack manufacturer of ready to eat sausage and hot dogs, is a new technology based business.
Ab E Discovery, LLC is a 2015 startup company located in Madison, Wisconsin. Ab E’s mission is to commercialize entrepreneurial science. Ab E’s focus is improving animal agriculture’s beneficial impact on humankind through licensed University research discoveries and inventions.
Over the past 8 years, Chris has also served as chairman of two advisory boards for the Dean of the College of Agriculture at UW Madison, and is currently on the UW Madison College of Agriculture Board of Visitors. Chris is the 2016 UW Entrepreneurial Achievement Award recipient.
Chris has served as the keynote motivational speaker on several occasions.
Chris is married (40 years and counting) to Susan, also a UW Madison and Purdue graduate. Their family includes 3 adult children, their spouses and 5 grandsons. Chris and Susan serve in several capacities in their church and other community building organizations.
